XML help for Blogger?

Ok, I wanted to change the template of my blog (from Blogger). I got this really cute skin http://www.blogskins.com/info/41621


When I tried to preview it in Blogger, I got the following error message


"Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure that all XML elements are closed properly.


XML error message: The element type "body" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".


Someone please tell me what to do !!!!! I really love this skin !

It appears that there is a missing %26lt;/body%26gt; tag in the xml file. In order to fix it you'd have to have the xml file. I'm not sure how to do that.





Maybe you could contact them and ask them to fix it.





*What do you want me to do with the template? There is an external xml file that links to the template. Nobody has access to it. Even if you did, you wouldn't be able to edit it. You'll have to contact them and let them know.

In the top right of your entry there is a button saying "MAKE PUBLIC". Click this and if you need to turn it back to PRIVATE, go to MY BLOGS... click HIDE near that entry... then SAVE all the stuff you just did.

i see what u mean. I have a blog and I face the same problem frequently. I suggest u, choose a new template and do it all again. Are u trying to say you want to put a picture as ur background??





Its kinda diffucult. Its best if u download a pre-made layout (most of them sucks!!)

Whenever I create a page element on blogger, and I view my page, it has a little wrench looking icon on the side. I believe it is there to help me edit that portion of my blog. I see that other people don't have it on their blogs and I think it looks ugly with it on mine. How do I get rid of it?

Should only be temporary and be back up within an hour or two. Try it again later, but try and wait before you try again to keep their servers from being overwhelmed when it comes back up with everyone trying to get in at once.

Why is my blogger template appear as : ERROR?

This problem has been there for weeks and it still has not been solved. When I log into my blogger account, I click TEMPLATE, and it appear as BLOGGER PROBLEM. Thus, I am not able to edit my blog since this problem has occurred a few weeks ago. How am I suppose to solve this error?

What I'm wondering about is if you are referring to www.blogger.com's blogger??





And are you using the old blogger instead of the new one?





If yes, then you will have to go to http://www.blogger.com and in the top right corner, it says "Claim your old blogger account" link.





If you sign in with something other than a google account, you will need to complete a couple steps, get a google account from that link and start using the new blogger.





According to the help section, the old blogger ceased to exist as of May 4/07.





With the new blogger, you can continue to blog, choose new templates, etc.

Need HELP in Blogger HTML!!?

AGH! I had a perfectly good blog, the templates that blogger provided. But I thought I needed a change and so dl a new template based on HTML. I backed up all my existing template. Then i put in the new one, which required me to revert to the Classic template. So i did, i put the HTML code in and it messed up my thing into white nothing but a PLAIN WHITE BACKGROUND. So i went back to the new template, uploaded my old template in. BUT when i press preview, my old blog shows up but when i actually type up my blogger address, its still whiteeeeeeeeeee!! AGHHH...help :(...





Note: I thought maybe i left the new HTML code behind in the classic template so i reverted back to the classic template and put my old HTML code in but it still doesnt work, now instead only the blue header navigator bar shows up. PLZ PLZ HELP! :(

The conviction drew widespread condemnation from Egyptian and international human rights groups, which saw the case as an attempt to intimidate Egypt's burgeoning Internet blogging scene.





The United States has frequently criticized the Egyptian government for the lack of democratic freedoms it allows, but had recently toned down its comments as it sought Muburak's support for efforts to stabilize Iraq and rekindle Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts.

Don't misunderstand me. I hate Mubarak and his ruling regime more than anyone can imagine.


Unfortunately, I read this guy's blog more than once. I regret doing that. It's horrible. He is a horrible person. He insulted everything that we , Muslims, believe in. He openly declared his hate to our religion, our principles, and our God.

I had this problem once, and I notice that Blogger uses 'blogspot.com', and not 'blogger.com'





Another possible cause is that you used your username and not your weblog name. It may also cause problem. You have to use your weblog name, and not your user id.

Old Blogger and new Blogger use different coding. Check to see that what you are trying to paste in has been designed for the new google Blogger.

That is a great question, and I am using both for some of my blogs and sites.





Blogger:





Pros - Free and instant indexing into the google search engine results.


Cons - limited to what you can do for layout without extensive knowledge of the blogger system, limited comments system, limited with just about anything you can think of that you might want to customize as your own.





Wordpress.org install:





Pros - you can do whatever you want, install any theme you want, any plugins, etc...etc...etc...





Cons - will need your own server and domain name so there is a cost with that, maybe need some coding experience to work out any bugs, or know how to get around with directions.





I hope that helps a little bit. I use both for several sites that I have, and I like wordpress better as it allows me more control over the site. Blogger is a good system too, don't get me wrong, and maybe I'm not completely familiar with the inner workings of it.

Im new to blogger.com and i dont understand the option site feed in settings. I have written a very lengthy post and dont want it to be displayed all together. I have enabled "short" in site feed but in my blog it still shows the same lengthy matter!!! Can anyone help me with any tips???

It is the theme code. You need to login into your blogger account, then go to the dashboard, and click "Template"





It will show some code in it that is similar to what you have downloaded from BlogSkins.





Just delete that code and paste the code that you downloaded from Blogskins. Click the preview button and see how it is appearing. If it is rendering correctly, then click "Save The Template" and you are done.

Blogger won't let you upload the html file. Because it is not a website. It is a blog. Try a website builder sites like the awardspace.com and freewebs.com then you can upload your page and verify.

heres my problem -


I have adsense and blogger accounts, in my blog when i put on a new adsense item, its easy enough and it just adds an advertisement wherever i place it. But then when i sign into adsense, these ads arent showing up - ive only started the bloggs today and put the ads up, does it take a while to kick in or what?





Also - when i apply for an ad on adsense and it gives you the code to paste, where do you paste that in blogger, i know you go to the html part but where abouts do i put it?

In my opinion if you put something out in public space you should expect it to be public. Also since it is not copyrighted it is not protected in the fact that someone can come along and use what you say in another public forum without giving you/blogger credit.


If the blogger has any common sense/civility he should let his friends know that what they say could end up on his blog just like a journalist should be letting his quotes know that they will end up in print/ public view.

When you go to your dashboard and are logged in, it lists your blogs and under each one is a list of things to manage: posts, settings, or layout.





Click "Posts" and this brings up a list of all your posts and drafts.





Next to each is an "edit" link. Click "edit" and this will bring up the post.





You can then add to it or publish it by clicking the "Publish Post" button at th bottom.

I just signed up for the Amazon.com affiliate program and am putting links on my "blogger.com" blog. I copied and pasted the ads and put them under the "edit html" section. When I preview them, they are showing up on the left margin like they are supposed to, but when I type, my paragraphs are not stayig on the right side like I want them to. I have tried using the centered aignment, but am getting nowhere. Since I am using html for the amazon banners, do I need to use html for my paragraphs as well so they are aligned properly. I didn't use wordpress so I don't know about it. But for Blogger, I believe it's good enough because there aren't many restrictions. But if you post more than a few posts a day, it might consider you as a spammer and ask you for a code everytime. But generally, it's good.

I currently have a blogger account. I tried to get 360 but I'm having trouble with it (not as many options and HTML is not user friendly - confusing). And I have heard a lot about myspace but I don't want to start from scratch if its not worth it.

I'm not quite sure, but this is what I think. On MySpace, making friends are much easier, as long as you ask them, the majority of them would probably accept without any hesitation. MySpace seems to give you a lot of freedom in decorating your profiles and such. I'm not sure of 360 though...

I found this interesting, hopefully someone can explain what's going on. My blogger blog entires WILL show up in google blog search, but only if I search a unique phrase that's in my entry. For example, if I blog about Pizza, then do a google blog search on pizza and sort by date, it doesn't show up. But if I search for "pizza is so yummily awesome" (let's say, a quote from my entry) and sort by date, it will show up.





I could see it maybe not showing up when it's sorted by relevancy, because other blogs might be deemed more relevant or important. But if it's sorted by date, if mine was one of the latest entries, shouldn't it be listed?

ok, it is because a simple search of 'pizza' returns about 138,000,000 results.


your entry might be among the many, but i doubt it would be on the first 100 pages.


and i would also doubt you would actually go through every single hit.


however, when you google ' pizza is so yummily awesome' returns only 132 results.


this is because of the extra words you added in, which greatly minimized the results.


it rules out MOST cooking recipes (which can turn out for a search of 'pizza), companies and many others.





p.s. on a lighter note, i think the word 'yummily' is unique (;

Hi. I just wanted to ask, could you really make a lot of money from google adsense using blogger.com?? There are a lot of people using it, so I doubt that a lot of people can make money off it.


And my second question is, do gaming websites like mofunzone.com and addictinggames.com make a lot of money? How do they get there games? And how could I get started? Thanks in advance.

From my experience you could make allot of money but most of the time no. i have done it and i only make a few bucks here and there for people that get allot of traffic coming to there site and clicking on thing then yes.

i don't know much about mofunzone.com but i do know a bit about addictinggames.com





addictinggames.com, they were made by the merger of Atom Corporation and Shockwave.com. That's is where most all the games and firms cames from at the beginning but now that MTV has acquired them


The game are developed from all sorts of studios, firms, movies, ete, as well as users that want there games to be played.

Blogger Template Problem?

When I tried to copy and paste the code into the blogger template, it says "Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.


XML error message: The element type "head" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".

Was unable to download the file. However look for %26lt;body%26gt; tag and add a %26lt;/head%26gt; tag just above it. Also make sure that it is an XHTML template. Pasting HTML templates into the new blogger layouts gives errors.

Recently I've been having problems with text linking in Google's Blogger. Every time I try to post the standard www link it won't show up after I publish the blog. But the highlighted text/word link does. How do I fix this so that the regular links show up on the blog?

Why is it that when I'm posting/editing my posts on blogger.com/blogspot it doesn't matter how many times I take out the extra line spaces it puts in, they keep coming back? I've noticed other similar problems as well-- pictures moving around, text justification doing it's own thing, etc. It's like nothing you do in the editing step is remembered.





Why is it that when I want to insert a picture into (or at the end of) a previously written post that I'm adding to or editing, it's inserting it at the top of the post, no matter where the cursor is when I utilize the picture tool?





Also, how can I use a JPG as a default signature for each post?





These things are very frustrating, any solutions will be greatly appreciated!

I am not familiar with the site but like most sites i'm sure it has to do with the way they rip apart your post before repostingit. They are posting pictures first, then the text. The spaces are removed because they are only scanning the post for text and reprinting that. You might try using html when you post and seeing if they post it that way but i highly doubt it. Handling your posts in that manner allows them to preserve servier space and utilize it the most effective way.

Blogger.com language setting problem?

I just started a blog on blogger.com but everytime I sign in, it displays in Chinese rather than English. My default google.com and computer setting is in english. I looked at their help center but I can't follow what they do to change my language, when the tabs are all in Chinese!!

Reply:Without knowing who is providing the template it is impossible to answer. Most blog sites offer more than one template and/or include options to add columns and special spaces to the existing one used at startup. You should be able to click on Setup Options and find it if it is there.

parsing is the first thing that is done to an your xml file. it has to be well-formed xml (way before you start looking at the tags and attributes)





You need a way of verifying that your xml is well formed. the easiest way is to have a browser open up the xml file from your hard disk,





It will complain (each browser complains differently!) and point you to the problem spot!





often it's a stray %26amp; or %26lt; or unclosed tag.

I am using blogger, I am not proficient but have started using and playing with blogs. You can change your blog theme by picking up theme from the one available and then customizing it. All you need to do is go to customize your blog section and then blog layout or template option, here you will find edit HTML, you will find edit template. You can change i.e. modify the code but you need to be very careful, make sure that you keep backup of the original template.
